Winter Skincare Essentials
My skin gets dry in these cold winter months so to add some moisture back into my skin I switch up my skincare and add in some more moisturising products.
The Body Shop Honey & Oat 3 in 1 Scrub Mask is a great face mask that can moisturise the skin. Most of my masks are quite a deep cleanse which is great for cleansing the skin but can leave it a bit dry. But with the 3 in 1 aspect of this mask it is a great mask for the winter to help tackle the dry skin. I use an oil all year round but I feel it is essential for winter. The one I use is the Sarah Chapman Kinesis Overnight Facial, this is actually a repurchase because I loved it so much. It smells wonderful and leaves the skin feeling lovely and hydrated. Because it is an overnight oil, once asleep, it can work with the skin to help rehydrate and refresh. For thirst quenching skin I really like the Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief. The texture is gel like but really works into the skin for instant moisture. I love it! Although I don't really see much physically after using eye creams, I feel it is essential to use morning and night. My favourite for rehydrating and keeping under my eyes moisturised is the Kiehls Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado, it really is very creamy and a thick cream so brilliant for using at night so the product can do its thing overnight.
For my lips I have been using two different products. I use them through the day and before I go to sleep. Recently I have been getting really dry, chapped lips and both these products have worked a treat to help this. First up is Nuxe Reve de Miel, I like to use this one both day and night as you can build it up for a lip mask overnight and also put a thin layer on for the day. It works so well and I wake up with soft moisturised lips. The Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream is my favourite, I received this little sample in a beauty box and it has lasted me forever. I do only use this on my lips and I have used it on dry patches on my face too. I tend to use this just overnight as even the smallest amount is quite a thick consistency on the lips but it is so moisturising.
I used to get such dry, chapped hands so I always use hand creams the two I have been reaching for most recently are the Nivea Pure & Natural Hand Hydration and Lush Handy Gurugu Hand Cream. The Nivea hand cream melts into the hands leaving them feeling very soft. It's a light texture so great to use through the day and it doesn't leave your hands feeling greasy so a great one to chuck in your bag for on the go. The Lush hand cream is a slightly thicker texture which I love to use at night for a hand mask and it smells amazing!
