My 2015 Favourite Things

Happy New Year! I thought I would share a round up of all my favourite things from 2015. As I was gathering my favourites together I soon realised I have quite a fair few.

Books
There have been many books that I have loved reading this year but the main one that stood out to me is Leaving Time by Jodi Picoult. I won't go into detail about the book but it follows a daughter searching for answers about her mother and the reason why I love it is the huge twist at the end. I love it! Other authors that I have been reading are Ruth Rendall, Nicci French, Jane Shemilt, Claire Mackintosh, Jenny Blackhurst, Paula Hawkins and Gillian Flynn.

Makeup
My makeup collection has grown some what this year so naturally there are quite a few favourites including Mac Soar lip pencil and Mac Mehr lipstick. This duo has been featured on previous posts where I have gone into more detail about the products, they are a lovely colour and really comfortable to wear. For the eyes, I have loved the By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Misty Rock and Benefit Roller Lash. Misty Rock is a gorgeous purple taupe colour, the stick applicator is easy to use and it is long-lasting on the eyes. Benefit Roller Lash is by far my favourite mascara for 2015. It creates such great length and gives that bit of volume too. Glastonberry by Charlotte Tilbury is a fairly new addition to my ever growing lipstick collection but it went straight to the top of my favourite berry lipstick. It is a comfortable formula to wear all day and has great lasting power.

Perfume
I have two favourite perfumes for 2015, Tom Ford's Velvet Orchid and Pomegranate Noir by Jo Malone. I'm not sure I am going to be able to describe the scent of these however, both these perfumes smell amazing so I really do recommend you go and smell them in store.

Fashion
I finally managed to find my perfect pair of black heeled boots, these ones are from New Look and were a bargain £24.99. They no longer, that I can see, have these boots online but these are very similar. The yellow, cream and blue checked scarf is from H&M I bought it when I was in Rome. They don't have it on their website any longer but they have loads of similar and lovely scarves. I love how blanket like the scarf is as it means it is so snuggly and warm!

Jewellery
My 'S' necklace is from Kate Spade and I adore it, I wear it mostly everyday, it's great for layering with other necklaces and wearing on its own. Later in the year I discovered the website lvndr which sells lovely jewellery at amazing prices. I purchased a few rings from there for myself and also bought Christmas presents for family on there as well. A great find!

Food
Milky bar buttons are AMAZING who would have known? Definitely not me as I was never a big lover of white chocolate but I found a pack of these on my desk at work and felt it rude not to eat a few and I couldn't stop!

Places
I went on holiday to Rome this year and it was the most fascinating place I thoroughly enjoyed myself and all the food. I also went to Paris for a few nights, this was my second time to Paris and it is by far my favourite city. I treated my boyfriend to a night away to Brighton in 2015 and we had a great time, we really liked the different areas to Brighton and all it had to offer.

So there were my favourites of the year with a trip to New Zealand and other lovely things I am sure I'll have a lot of favourites this new year too.

What were your favourite things of 2015?

S.
